We switched from NBC News to ABC-----happy so far!

Last week we were so angry at NBC's coverage of the Health Reform passage that we had to quit. NBC "news" had a complete bashing --- not one mention about people who were in favor of HCR. Very disappointing!

1. Turn off your TV (and think your OWN thoughts/reach your own conclusions).....

and you will be positively ECSTATIC! (and among the most reasoned people in your city/town).

2. Now take the next step and switch to NPR ( National Public Radio)

and do other things while listening.

4. NPR gives me road rage when I listen in the car.

It's got a real right-wing lean to it these days.

3. Just ask yourself:

1. What is corporate media in business for. What is their primary goal?

2. Who's best interest are the serving?

3. How much does the answer to point one influence what you see and hear?

Seeing for what it is and then turning it off could transform things faster than anything else. I mean, you can still watch the device, but be selective by choosing movies and series on DVD, etc.

There are many avenues for information and many other things to do other than going into an alpha state and absorbing the visions and voice of the Simulation.

I have been off of the thing for about twelve years and will not go back. I know several people who have turned off cable/satellite and went cold turkey. You can see a difference.

5. I'm always amused at those who feel they can not have TV

because they feel 'forced' to watch 'news programming'. Cable brings me the Met, cultural events around the world I can not afford to attend, lessons in French, and on and on and on. Don't watch 'news' shows, same as I don't watch sports or 700 Club. Those who think they are somehow forced to watch one thing rather than another are delusional. How is that done? The set beams lasers at you and forces you to switch from Current Vanguard to Glenn Beck? Is that how it happened? You were simply unable to change the channel to something worthwhile? Where you live cable is all 'news' and opinion? Around here, there is a bit of that, but also lots of great films and documentaries that do not screen for long if at all in our local art house. You choose to watch crap. Last night I watched Food Inc. On cable TV. How awful.
If you can not deal with an object, you should not use it. But that is all about you, not about the object. They could take all the 'news' off my cable and I'd not miss it a bit. No voices in my head making me watch it. Lucky me!

6. The national news shows (ABC, CBS, NBC) are rarely allowed to run by themselves anymore.

Some years ago, they were folded into the Entertainment division, and the "News" division was eliminated.

So, what you get now is what happens when "Entertainment" runs "News".

Fewer actual hard substance stories that may not be sensationalistic and ooh-ahh, and more glitter and focus on ratings. Less investigative, OBJECTIVE, journalism, and more cotton candy fluff.

8. And more news packaged as "stories"...

... and, of course, news that is selected and presented so as to fit a pre-concocted narrative.

They have surpassed even CNN in their effort to become FAUX II ever since Diane Sawyer took over the evening news.

Not that Chuckie Giblets was much better.
