We have so many working class...

...defending tax cuts for the investor class.

The same investor class who invests in creating jobs overseas, sheltering profits in offshore accounts, and ironically owns the television and radio airwaves that tell the working class how to think.

Billionaires owning the TV and Radio airwaves who hire millionaires to tell the working class what is best for them.
And the dittoheads fall right inline with the brainwashing.

2. Check out Newsweek online. The working class is getting grumpy.
They're finally twigging to the fact that if they're working, it's nothing much to be grateful for because they're being exploited by a bunch of suits who are being overpaid to exploit them so that the rich can suck up all the fruits of their labor. They're finally catching on that the gains the unions made, like the 8 hour day and the 40 hour week, are just cruel jokes and that the overtime they depend on to pay their bills is putting them right back to square one: the 14 hour workday, 6 days a week, on starvation wages. And they're getting sick of being told to do more with less and that they're lucky to be working when so many are not and there are ten people waiting to take the job if they don't like it.

I would hope that the vestiges of the unions are paying attention. If ever there were a perfect time to start rebuilding the labor movement in this country, it's now.

And I fully agree with you.

Do you have a Newsweek link or when I go there it will be obvious?

4. I think it's the cover story this week
Edited on Sat Aug-07-10 12:08 PM by Warpy
so just plugging Newsweek into Google will get you there.

I read the story last night and didn't save the link, sorry.

Thanks for your work as a Steward. I've had union jobs and I've had non union jobs and union jobs are better.

5. thanks

I work in Public Works Department for a City here in the 'red' part of SoCal.
The residents appreciate our work but the irony is that they want us to work for peanuts.

6. When those taxes go
to helping companies offshore jobs, then wanting lower taxes makes sense from the worker class point of view.

US labor has no friends. Both parties want to offshore jobs and import low cost labor to undercut the few jobs they can't offshore.

Prepare yourself for a third-world standard of living, it's coming sooner than you might think (if you're not already there, like many are).
