MSNBC wins prize for most deceptive title: "Poll: Clear GOP advantage ahead of midterms"
That's the title to an article at link below on msnbc.com

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/38996574/ns/politics/

"A combination of sky-high GOP enthusiasm, a deep sense of pessimism about the country’s direction and dissatisfaction with President Barack Obama's stewardship of the economy has given Republicans a clear advantage heading into the November midterm elections, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

With the Labor Day holiday marking the traditional starting point of the campaign season, Republicans have a nine-point edge among those considered likely voters, plus a near 20-point lead among those expressing the highest amount of interest in the midterms. "

Then further down you read this:

"Among all registered voters, however, both parties are tied on the generic ballot, 43 percent to 43 percent..."

Jee, do you think they oversold the GOP talking point???

1. Nah
A statistical tie in the polling just ALWAYS means that the Republicans have a "clear advantage"

:sarcasm: :eyes: :puke:

2. Actually, "likely voters" are a far more reliable key to the result than "registered voters"...
...but, with eight weeks or so to go, and the Party from Obama on down just starting to go on the offensive, there's plenty of opportunity for Democrats to close the "likely voter" gap, while Republicans probably are at their high-water mark regarding LVs.

3. I hope so
The corporate media will be painful to listen to (and the next two years equally insufferable) if the Republicans win big in November.

4. M$M is certainly doing everything they can to help make it happen - by convincing those who do not
do their own thinking that the GOP is who they apparently are for.

the MPVs, the Most Persuade-able Voters.

5. 9% in Likely Voters is Huge
no matter what the sentiment among all registered voters. Hope it doesn't shake out that way, but the title is justified.

6. The use of a 'generic ballot' question when the candidates
are known is a tactic used to avoid naming the candidates. That is done for a reason. That's all.
