Cutting through the media junk out there, this one meeting of a real Princess and a want-to-be princess makes some of those 'important' stories out there all fall pale.

6-year-old cancer patient gets a royal hug from Kate, Duchess of Cambridge - Six-year-old Diamond Marshall shatters protocol and rushes into the royal arms.

Diamond has undifferentiated sarcoma, with tumors in her abdomen and lungs; her mother, Memory, died from the same form of cancer when Diamond was 18 months old. Now just 6 years old, Diamond has undergone both chemotherapy and radiation therapy, has had to re-learn how to walk, talk, and eat, and is scheduled for surgery later this summer.


Her letter to the Kate is furthest right in the photo line-up, well worth a read.

"I was named after Princess Diana. My mommy Memory is in heaven with her," she wrote. "I watched you get married from my bed. ... My favorite princess is Aurora, who is yours? I would really like to meet you. Do you want to meet me too? Thank you for reading my letter."
