Nightline plays edited tape of Jim Hoffa Jr's speech distorting meaning ala Faux News

...last night Nightline played a clipped version of Jimmy Hoffa jr's remarks at Obama's Labor Day speech in Detroit....

ABC was in full Faux News disinformation-propaganda mode. What they played of a tape of Hoffa's speech was: "Let’s take these son of bitches out".

Here's what Jimmy Hoffa Jr. ACTUALLY said:

"We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They’ve got a war, they got a war with us and there’s only going to be one winner. It’s going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We’re going to win that war.

President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. And President Obama, we want one thing: jobs, jobs, jobs… That’s what we’re going to tell him. He’s gonna be … and when he sees what we’re doing here, he will be inspired. But he needs help. And you know what? Everybody here’s got to vote. ... ABC's blatant distortion of Hoffa's meaning put's them in a category of GOP Propoganda shills and disinformation mills such as Fox News. Best not to take anything they say seriously... they appear to be bending over for the GOP.

Let’s also forget about the deafening silence as an increasing wave of hate-filled, violent rhetoric went unchecked as a man, claiming to be heavily influenced by Glenn Beck’s rants, plotted to assassinate leaders at the Tides Foundation and the ACLU, while former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin called for locking and loading in support of Beck’s incendiary rhetoric. Forget the images of Democratic members of Congress with gun crosshairs over their faces, or toxic talk dismissed as “spirited debate” by the right as the fear mongering crested and Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) was shot. Dismiss the wildly inappropriate ranting of Republican Rep. Allen West (Fla.) against Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.). Or the statement made by the Senate Republican minority leader that ensuring one term for the president was his top priority, while the Republican House Speaker instructed his caucus to oppose the Affordable Healthcare Act before giving the president the opportunity to discuss it at a meeting on Capitol Hill.

And put aside that the Tea Partyers are being used as a tool — backed by wealthy executives like the Koch brothers — to advocate for and against anyone or anything that threatens their profit margins, not middle-class Americans.

The thing is, if for some reason you can’t, or don’t, put all of that aside, its almost impossible not to view the repeated behavior of congressional Republicans as either a fundamental lack of respect for the office of the presidency of the United States of America or a lack of respect for President Obama.

The pattern continues tonight as five Republican members of Congress blow off a joint session on THE issue Americans most want Washington to deal with: job creation.

3. This is not depressing because ABC is corrupt..

It's depressing in the same way that watching yet another generation of teenagers discover that heroin is not a good idea is depressing.

I thought the progressive world was pretty much in agreement back in the seventies that television was hopeless, that the corporate structure made impossible for them to NOT be corrupt and dishonest whenever it affected the ruling class.

Television is propaganda. It's the medium, not the content. And the earth isn't 4000 years old, nor flat.

4. Actually, the right wing does consider voting "Dangerous"

last week it was a pundi-nut on American Thinker comparing helping poor people vote to giving them "Burglar Tools"

And now a call to vote is a "call to violence".

The truth is they fear labor and poor people voting to be more dangerous and justify voter suppression as essential to "Freedom".
