10. Paul Malmont's "The Astounding, The Amazing, and the Unknown"

Historical fantasy about now-famous science fiction writers in WWII. Under the leadership of Hollywood-handsome Robert Heinlein, a scrappy crew including Isaac Asimov, L. Sprague de Camp, and the guy who wrote "The Shadow" are part of a skunkworks project set up by the wartime Navy in Philadelphia. The primary objective of the young scientists and engineers: avoid being drafted.

Under pressure from Naval authorities, they promise to demonstrate a way to make battleships invisible to radar (which they haven't a clue how to do). Throw in a little mystery about some of the more obscure experiments performed in 1908 by Nikola Tesla (note that date), and adventures ensue.

It's vivid and witty. And kinda-sorta based on fact. Highly recommended. Quasi-sequel to his "The Chinatown Death Cloud Peril," which was about a bunch of pulp authors (notably L. Ron Hubbard) in the 1930s saving the world from stolen WWI poison gas — which I'd recommend equally highly.
