I thought the Fox interviews were great. They all but admitted they are biased in their reporting. And they gave a good self-critique. I just hope the fools at CNN were listening.
1. A little flash: When Fox started, CNN had a virtual monopoly on cable news. So the CNN anchors were less concerned about their appearance, and the CNN producers made little effort to have great graphics and great music. Let's face it, Fox isn't actually news, but it is still more exciting than CNN - hands down. To quote a famous rapper:
They want dancers, they want lighting; They want effects, to make it look exciting
2. A little thigh: Fox has them. Now, I don't care one bit. But apparently a lot of people do. Fox has bimbos on from sunup to sundown. Some of them have great legs. Did I digress? Sorry. CNN has good reporters who ask good questions. In the age of Britney Spears, who is going to win this contest?
3. Point of view: Fox is catering to a point of view that "doesn't get aired" often on other networks. That in itself is a point of view. Its nonsense, too. But I agree 100% that they are putting out a particular point of view. Kinda hard to say you are "Fair and Balanced" when you fess up that you are also presenting (and focusing on) an "under-represented" viewpoint. I guess rednecks are people too.
Long story short: They gave their formula for success this morning. They are aiming for the rassling crowd, and they are winning. Apparently there are more boneheads than there are thinkers.
