I found the following post on a Howard Stern fan site...
The Howard Stern Show will be broadcast LIVE on the Streamer peer-to-peer internet radio network starting on Monday, March 15, 2004, at 6am Eastern Standard Time.
This is to be considered a supplement to -- not a replacement for -- The Howard Stern radio show, in protest against the Broadcast Decency Enforcement Act.
The broadcasters have no affiliation with the Streamerp2p software developers, the Howard Stern Show, www.stopfcc.com, or the U.S. Senate -- we're just fans of Howard and believers in free speech.
Our hope is to encourage more people to join the fight against both the Broadcast Decency Enforcement Act and the Bush administration that is ramming it down our throats.
To listen to the broadcast, you will need Streamer www.streamerp2p.com (it's free, small, and safe) Winamp www.winamp.com Windows (ugh! but they're working on Linux and Mac versions)
After installing and running the software:
Browse to www.streamerp2p.com Look in the stations list for: "The Howard Stern Show - LIVE - Monday, March 15, 2004" Click on the "streamer" logo of the station Enjoy
If your browser doesn't automatically open the stream, then just look in the stations-list of the streamer program itself, find "The Howard Stern Show - LIVE - Monday, March 15, 2004", double-click on it and enjoy.
The U.S. Senate will probably vote on this bill this week. Contact your Senators at www.senate.gov (find their number and call them on the phone) and let your voice be heard. At the very least, please sign the petition at www.stopfcc.com. Everyone's freedom of speech depends on you.
P.S. The Streamer P2P Network is a free, worldwide, community-organized, decentralized network of internet radio broadcasters. Everyone who listens to the broadcast on the network automatically rebroadcasts the program to even more listeners/rebroadcasters. In other words, the more people that tune in, the easier it becomes for more people to tune in...to ANYBODY'S ideas.
