CHICAGO - Yusef Jackson, son of the Rev. Jesse Jackson, is among the bidders for the Chicago Sun-Times, according to a published report.
Jackson, an attorney who runs a beer distributorship in the city, submitted a bid for the daily along with supermarket billionaire Ronald Burkle, Crain's Chicago Business said in its Monday edition. The weekly newspaper cited unidentified sources close to the bidding process and said the amount of the bid was not known.
Yusef Jackson is not commenting on the report, a spokesman said Monday. The senior Jackson said he wouldn't be part of his son's proposal.
"I'm proud of my son's interest in it, but I would not be involved in it at all," the reverend told WLS-AM during a stop in downtown Chicago on Monday to cast an absentee ballot for Tuesday's primary election.
