Partisan political reporting from MSNBC on 9/11.
Partisanship reeks from MSNBC Lisa Meyers three part report on missed opportunities to get Osama bin Laden. For the report opportunities that did not happen are implied as for Bush and against Clinton using writing techniques -- since truth would be inadequate.

Techniques like:
"Clinton did" versus "Bush might have done."
Why didn't Clinton strike versus what could Bush have done?
Clinton has critics. (NOTICE: Bush has none.)
Wrongly, unknown critics call it a missed opportunity.
Two quotable critics work for MSNBC, and may like to keep their jobs.
Those quotes lack mention of opposite Clinton acts.
Clinton era photos were secret, implying some complicity that isn't.
Wrongly implies Clinton had only to pull the trigger.
Wrongly implies that Bush readied missiles when Clinton didn't.
Frames OBL as most wanted when against Clinton then later it's arguable.
Clinton was weakend by scandal in not acting, but, ...
"No political consensus," avoids saying Republicans slowed action. Avoids saying the word Republican.

Incorrectly spell Bob Kerrey as Kerry. (Swing voters can confuse, even replace, Kerrey's sad record with candidate Kerry's heroic record.)

Part three should be critically read. President Bush and his well paid apologists are afraid of what the 9/11 commission will say. So, they need to convince the masses with a Clinton can be blamed, an opportunity for them to defer blame to Clinton while carefully taking little blame on some inevitable uncomfortable talk shows.

They should be thankful they got rid of Bill Maher, Phil Donahue, and now Howard Stern five days after Stern changed from a Bush supporter to a Bush critic. The rest of the pundits know they will be vilified by the CONservative attack machine the moment they speak up.

MY NOTES:

Osama bin Laden: missed opportunities

Tuesday: How close did the United States come to getting bin Laden?
Wednesday: What more could the Bush administration have done to get bin Laden?
Coming Thursday: Did Bush take terrorism seriously before 9/11, or was focus too much on Saddam?

Senior investigative correspondent

Updated: 6:40 p.m. ET March 17, 2004 Wednesday, Tuesday's report
believed to be Osama bin Laden a year before 9/11. Lisa Myers explores: Why didn't the United States strike?

Clinton and .. Bush might have done to prevent.. MIGHT CAN BE MIGHTY, AND MIGHTY CONFUSING.

The question AS THOUGH THIS PREEMPTS OTHER QUESTIONS for the 9/11 commission: If the CIA was able DURING CLINTON to get that close to bin Laden before 9/11, why wasn't he captured or killed? The videotape has remained secret until now. NO MENTION OF BEING CLASSIFIED

1998 declared holy war on America, making him arguably the most wanted man in the world. NEXT ARTICLE, MOST WANTED IS ASSUMED

Clinton announced (he'd get OBL) NOTICE PARAGRAPH TRANSITION TO WE HAVE ...
secret video
Critics call it a missed opportunity. CRITICS? WHAT WOULD CLINTON SAY? THAT THE MISSLES WERE READY ON THE SHIPS. THAT THE DRONES WERE NOT READY TO HAVE MISSLES?

.. in its sights .. why was no action taken against them? SEE ABOVE, ADD THAT OBL MOVED, OFTEN.

William Arkin, a former intelligence officer and now military analyst for NBC. NBC, HOW CLEVER.

"We were not prepared to take the military action necessary," said retired Gen. Wayne Downing, .. now an NBC analyst. NBC AGAIN, HOW CLEVER.

"We should have had strike forces prepared to go in ... AS I RECALL, CLINTON DID!

White House required the CIA to attempt to capture bin Laden alive .. CLINTON DID ORDER HIM DEAD. CIA OUT OF THE LOOP?

Clinton administration treated bin Laden as a law enforcement problem. GOP PREEMPTED CLINTON ACTION AS WAGGING THE DOG.

Bob Kerry, a former senator .. SPELLING KERREY WITHOUT "EY" CONFUSES PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY SWING VOTERS WHO DON'T REALIZE THERE ARE TWO: KERRY AND KERREY. AND CONFUSE KERREY'S PERFORMING AWFUL WAR ACTS, WITH KERRY'S REVEALING SOLDIER TESTIMONY OF AWFUL WAR ACTS TO CONGRESS.

Clinton .. could have ..ask(ed) .. to declare war .. PREEMPTED BY THE GOP.

.. Clinton weakend by scandal .. NAMES CLINTON
.. No political consensus .. AVOIDS NAMING REPUBLICANS
.. three top Clinton .. officials. None would do an on-camera interview .. AFTER SAYING THIS, THEY MENTION THE GOOD SIDE OF CLINTON

ENDING: ".. we did not see the gathering storm that was out there." WHICH TO CLINTON HATERS READS INCOMPETENCE.

Osama bin Laden: missed opportunities
What could the Bush administration have done to get bin Laden? NOTICE PHRASING COULD MEAN A SHRUG, AS IN WHAT COULD HE HAVE DONE GIVEN THE MESS CLINTON HATERS WOULD FOOLISHLY BELIEVE BUSH WAS LEFT.

disclosed exclusive spy video

Critics questioned why the Clinton administration didn't do more to get bin Laden after he was in their sights.
CRITICS OF CLINTON, CRITICS OF CLINTON. NOTE: THERE ARE NO CRITICS OF BUSH.
IT'S PRESIDENT BUSH, IT'S CLINTON ADMINISTRATION.
IN HIS SIGHTS IS AN EXPRESSION, YET IT ISN'T, IT SHOWS CLINTON JUST DIDN'T PULL THE TRIGGER, AND SAYS NOTHING PARALLEL ABOUT BUSH -- EXCEPT IN SILENT CONSENT OF BUSH ACTIONS.

President Clinton didn't do more .. NOTE PARALLEL:
what more President Bush might have done, BUSH IS NEXT TO MIGHT, MIGHT HAVE DONE IS AN ENLISH MAJOR'S PET, NOT FOR MOST AMERICANS.

That fall the Predator also provided the first live images of the most wanted fugitive in the world a tall man in white robes believed to be bin Laden. NOTICE: THE MOST WANTED, LATER IT'S ARGUABLE.

In the fall of 2000, .. CLINTON'S WATCH!
secretly captures .. SECRET BECAUSE HE'S HIDING SOMETHING, HINT HINT.

Predator .. not ready .. (for) armed missions this fall." (I MOVED THIS PARAGRAPH UP, HERE IT DEFUSES CLINTON AS NOT PULLING THE TRIGGER. BUT...)

President Bush decided to arm the Predator with deadly Hellfire missiles ...... (BUT, WHEN THIS PARAGRAPH FOLLOWS IT SAYS BUSH WAS READY TO PULL THE TRIGGER WHEN CLINTON WAS NOT WITHOUT SAYING IT.)
did not send unarmed Predators back to look for bin Laden. BUSH DOES NOT SEND IN THE PREDATORS, TO EVEN LOOK FOR OBL, NOT EVEN LOOKING. YET IT SOUNDS LIKE BUSH DID MORE, SOMEHOW. VERY CLEVER. VERY CLEVER.

problem, everyone agrees, is bureaucratic infighting .. WHEN REPUBLICANS USE EVERYONE AGREES, REST ASSURED IT WILL BE USED LATER AGAINST ANYONE WHO DIDN'T SAY: "NOT REALLY."

Bush had said he was tired of "swatting flies." SOME READERS, THE SWING VOTERS PROBABLY, WON'T REALIZE THIS IS BUSH'S OSSAMA BEING FORGOTTEN.

1.  Bob Kerrey vs John Kerry
I heard a DEM voter on NPR recently saying he did NOT vote for Kerry in the primary, and will vote for Bush this year.

His reason? Kerry killed a bunch of civilians in Vietnam. It was Bob Kerrey, which the NPR person tried like hell to explain to this voter, but apparently the names were close enough to make it the same person as far as he was concerned :eyes:

3. I heard that Kerrey/Kerry mistaker. It's why this bugs me.
That man on NPR had made his decision based on information he believed. When told he goofed, he stammered to collect himself, tried for a moment to justify himself, then feared real justice. The NPR personality was deferential, allowing him to walk away without too much egg on his face.

Once people have this balderdash about Clinton, Gore, or Kerry it is very hard to dislodge it. I was hoping to make a preemptive attack against the MSNBC series myself.

Unfortunately I'm preaching to the chior.

Thanks.

4. yeah, that guy had built up so much hate for John K
that he could barely bring himself to get over it and apply it to Bob.

Sometimes saving face is too important to people, I imagine there are lots of disgruntled Bush voters too, who feel like they've been played for fools but are too proud to admit it

as long as they admit it at the polls, I'm ok with that :)
