Clarke Book/9-11 Commission/Mid East Turmoil = Surge in Polls for...bush?
One would think that today would be a watershed in the complete unraveling of the bush administration. The revelations of the Clarke book are getting reasonable play in the media; the 9/11 commission is up tomorrow, while today's C-Span coverage of the 9/11 Citizen's Watch is damning in the extreme; the assassination of the founder of Hamas has set the Middle East on fire, with Mubarak canceling a long-scheduled trip to Israel to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Camp David Peace Accords, observing that the assassination has "ended the peace process."

Wow! It appears the bush/PNAC/Likudnik vision of the world is coming apart at the seams.

So, I ask you: can there be any doubt the the RW-bought-and-paid-for media and pollsters will be releasing polls in the next day or two stating that bush's poll numbers are surging, rather than crashing?

You heard it here first (BTW - I'd LOVE to be wrong on this one!).

1. polls
I have a roommate that is going to the RNC's "Campaign College", which is basically political re-education, and he came back one night talking about how the polls are indicating that Bush is going to win in a landslide. There's no doubt the polls you're talking about are on their way. And there's no doubt that they're all total bullshit.

2. I smell a RED alert
THe Fright Wing is plotting in some basement as we speak on the Grandest of Diversions YET! Maybe we'll have some Jim Baker drama and Bu$h will be found under his desk whimpering, "I just want to be loved, is that so wrong?" It'd make Al O'Franken proud.

3. That was John Lovitz, not Al Franken...
Just a correction here, the Saturday Night Live skit you're thinking about was one of John Lovitz's characters, not Al Franken's.

4. What I notice is that Cspan schedules divisive topics like school prayer
and no doubt gay marriage soon. The pledge of allegiance "under God" and flagburning will be headlining many shows to come.
