Any chance that Sirius will pick up "Air America"?
Sirius satellite radio?

I think "Air America" would be a perfect fit for them. They already have a couple of progressive talk stations in their lineup.

I posted this in GD, and someone who is a Sirius subscriber says that if enough customers request it, they'll add it.

XM is heavily bankrolled by Clear Channel ("Radio 666"). So I don't see them picking it up.

Any thoughts?

I appreciate the promise of satellite radio and Air America

5. Warren Lieberfarb was the genius behind DVD.
He thought up the idea, and was it's biggest cheerleader since it's launch in 1997. If he's behind Sirius, then there's no way this guy will let it fail. He's a powerhouse when it comes to promotion.

2. possibly
Check out this Radio Business Report:
http://www.rbrepaper.com/epaper/pages/march04/04-49_news1.html

"Both Sirius and XM are expected to carry all or part of the Air America feed by launch date and negotiations with Dish Network and DirecTV are ongoing, to get on their audio-only channels. The network will also be webcast live and archived via www.airamericaradio.com."

Also, Clear Channel does have a stake in XM, but I don't think XM is "heavily bankrolled by Clear Channel," and I don't think Clear Channel has that much control over programming, at least not yet. But I prefer Sirius and am a Sirius subscriber.

3. i just sent my suggestion
these are the two email addresses you can send to. sirius is definiteley more progressive than xm. xm's only political shows are right wing. sirius has a channel dedicated to the left (as well as the right) and a channel for gays and lesbians.

4. WHo owns sirius? CBS?
Confusing first re.
So, who owns Sirius? GE? Those listed gentlemen?

CBS was once owned by Westinghouse. Is viacom part of westinghouse? Did Westng. sell to viacom? Which families own Viacom?

Which city did garafulo once have the program in?

6. A poster on Saturday mentioned an anouncement for Monday.
"Sirius will announce Monday that they will be carrying Air America too.

I don't know how much of it they will be broadcasting, but the Sirius Media Relations person who leaked this said it would be "more than the other guys"

If you buy Sirius be sure to tell them it's because of Air America too.

We Sirius subscribers have been emailing the heck out of them to carry Air America and they apparently are listening to us. "
