Al Franken and the Fox Lawsuit/ What are the Real Motives?

Do you think Fox has an ulterior motive for this lawsuit?

The only reason I ask is that: if you read the personal attacks against Franken in the suit, as well as the blatent character assasination of him in it.

Which of course is in the content of a legal document, this character assasination/slander, makes no sense. How can a legal document be taken seriously with all this inside, if its only purpose is to make its trademark case: Then why the slander?

If it is personnal vendetta it will hopefully in the court of law, it will be figured out pretty quick and the case will be thrown out.

Which makes sense since (not only this but the phrase "fair and balanced" was around, way before Fox bought it).

If this lawsuit is so obviously flawed against Franken (whom would have much evidence to counter Fox with the Franken/O'reilly war going on), then tell me WHY would Fox do this?

Do they want free publicity and advertising from their competitors as well?

Of course its motivated by the fact that BIll O'Reilly is a sex slave to drag queen Ann Coulter and Ann has her ugly skirt in a knot over the fact that Al Franken is a helluva lot funnier than she'll ever be.

I think they're as out of touch with reality as their news is. Plus, I think O'Reilly wants revenge so bad he talked them into it.

I only hope that Franken gets some great lawyers and brings everything out about how they report the "fair and balanced news" in discovery. This could turn out to be like the libel suit brought by the Holocaust denier in England. Basically, a court could *rule* that Faux isn't fair and blanced.

As to Fox's motives, I don't have the kind of mind that could understand such a crazy lawsuit, let alone Fox's reasons for filing it. They are obviously on Planet Fox and I don't want to go there, that's for sure!

is O'Reilly was so desperate to exact revenge on Al Franken that he threatened to walk out on Fox if they didn't sue him. O'Reilly is utterly thin-skinned, and the bizarre language in the lawsuit smacks of his style.

Just a theory, of course, and if this is the case then obviously it's completely backfired (ha ha!)

...are ruthless litigators when it comes to protecting what they claim to be their intellectual property. O'Reilly didn't need to convince anybody to file the suit, but I'm sure he had some hand in putting his "trademark" spin on the complaint.

There is no way this wording can be thrown out in court in the orginal complaint.

This brings up the question of Motive?

And motive is ine of the main underling factors in law.

Franken's motive, was to satarize Fox News, which he did quite well.

His motive was not to copy Fox News, which will be proven quite easily.

Then what is Fox's motive? The language in the complaint is slanderous and vindictive, if it was just about trademark and property, then why the langauge?

I just had a argument over this word yesterday when I dared correct a friend's use of "alt" instead of "ult." When I got out the dictionary and proved I was correct, he became even more angry.

The law-suit will help Franken. It has been fired by O'really's hubris and Faux's desire to scare people who may mock them.

Interestingly enough, they are suing the Fauxnews Website behind the O'Rielly youth T-Shirts...

FOX also sued a bunch of Simpsons Fan sites, so this isn't a new tactic for them; but this is WAY over the top.

They are out of control!
