Are they SIRIUS?

Okay, I enjoy listening to radio streams while DUing. It said there was nothing on the air, so I checked C-SPAN, and some other stuff I have bookmarked, and nothing. Then I see that SIRIUS radio has a free 3-day trial offer. So I sign up, turn in to their "radio left," and, big surprise, more nothing. It works because I could listen to music, but there was nothing on radio left.

Anybody in radio knows that dead air is the worst thing they could have. Surely they could have reruns of earlier shows, if they absolutely can't find anyone to do a liberal show for them. (Ha ha -- I can think of a few thousand people offhand who'd be happy to oblige.)

I can listen to music, or to nothing at all for free, so why would I subscribe to SIRIUS if they can't manage to fill their radio left slots? Remember all the RW griping about the so-called liberal media? And now they can't find anything at all except dead air?

I don't think these airheads are SIRIUS at all.

1. Sirius doesn't stream
the syndicated talk programs. You can only listen to music and in house talk programing like outq

2. Well, they have this category, "radio left"

so if it isn't just an empty, dummy category, they could at least rerun the one liberal show they have (do they have one?) instead of having dead air.

8. If you own
a Sirius tuner radio left has programing on 24/7 never any dead air. They just don't stream on the net 24/7

3. I have sirius, and the normal subscription works
what is nice about sirius over xm is that sirius has two left stations:

1. sirius left
2. Air America

XM has one which splits air america with others

I would recommend sirius, because it has full coverage of air america, plus sirius left which has Thom Hartman, Ed Schultz, Young Turks etc.

I hope Mike Malloy gets a show

Where is Mike Malloy?

5. I've emailed them.

I don't need sirius for Air America, but I have 2 more days to see if serius left justifies a subscription.

I am listening to it now...It's pretty good..

You can also go to whiterosesociety and listen to many other
liberal talk programs like Guy James.

6. Just added whiterosesociety.org to my favorites list

It is perfect because I keep odd hours (some people have schedules, all I have are whims) and miss some programs I like.

I was listening to Nate earlier on WLS but it went off the air and I'm going to bed.

Thank you physioex!

7. They may have some rights issues with some of the Radio Left content
Some of the shows there are syndicted (not owned by Sirius), such as Alan Colmes, Ed Schultz, Thom Hartman, and Young Turks. Those guys stream or offer downloads of their shows on their own sites.

Lynn Samuels streams her show from the Sirius Left site. Hers is the only one streamed.

Alex Bennett, one of their newer hosts, is trying to arrange streaming of his show. I sent him a message on a newsgroup he frequents asking if he was going to stream, and he said that Sirius is open to the idea, and they're trying to work it out on at least a temporary basis. Haven't heard anything as of late.

For now, he has put up some streaming files on his site, both of his Sirius show and his fill-in work for Lionel:

Great listening. He's a left-leaning libertarian who loathes Bush.
