HE NAUSEATES ME. He only signed this NOW because he wants to get blacks to vote Republican. HELLO, REMEMBER FLORIDA? If he REALLY cared about their right to vote HE WOULD STEP DOWN AND LET AL GORE TAKE HIS RIGHTFUL PLACE, the lying, smirking phony. GOOD GOD, how SICK I am of this sh**. And civil rights leaders actually stood there and CLAPPED while he signed this bill KNOWING he wasn't even there legitimately. I'm sure DIEBOLD is laughing it's a** off too. Suckers. How sad to see our Democracy gone and being used only as a wedge issue. Thomas Jefferson is rolling in his grave!

2. We share the same fear and first thought
Will SOMEBODY tell the frat brat that this ain't Burger King & he CAN'T have it his way?
He doesn't get to tweak the legislation that crosses his desk.

5. And he'd get away with it too
Which is the entire point of showing the hypocrisy of all of this.

3. John Conyers is no sucker and he was there
because he had a right to be there.

You can bet your money that Conyers had a lot to say to GW today.

As an African American it surprises me when we are put down for being "at the table" when we are suppose to be there.

Is there a reason why John Conyers should have stayed at home? What message would that have sent?

If there were no African Americans present that would indicate that African Americans didn't care if the bill was passed.

Other than that.... I agree with you that GW is a two faced, vote hungry fool!

IMO, GW Bush will not fool Black America because he signed today.

As I recall, it was the RED STATES and DIEBOLD that gave him the elections. We stood in line for hours and hours to vote for GORE and KERRY.

Let's worry about the WHITE people that did/will vote RepubliCON instead of Black ELECTED officials that watched that clown sign his name today.

Conyers :yourock:

4. I didn't state that...
They were suckers, nor that they should have stayed home. I stated they stood there and clapped at this illegitimate fraud. Why do you feel the need to twist my words and make this a racial issue? I'm white and I stood on line to vote for Gore too ( and my vote then didn't count either), and have stood up for ALL Americans regarding what happened in Florida and elsewhere, which is my point regarding the sheer phoniness and hypocrisy of this "signing" today. Again, I simply stated they stood there and CLAPPED. I would have stood there stone cold silent. It is about making a statement, not giving him credence. And I worry about ALL OF OUR VOTES BEING COUNTED which is why I am so enraged at this today. He is still there because Americans of ALL colors have just sat silently by and watched him and his Neocons DESTROY our country and this Constitution. Where are the protests then if people aren't fooled?

6. No way was I trying to twist your words

I still think they should have clapped.

If anyone should have clapped it should have been African Americans, after all, if GW could have it the way he wanted it, he would have NEVER signed it.

I was not hardly trying to make it racial.

However, I am African American and sometimes we see it through different eyes.

I was expressing my point of view, just in case others wanted to take the time to see it from the view of one African American/American named goclark.
