Who the hell is Walter Williams?

The dingleberry who scribbles Mallard Fillmore has been talking up this Walter Williams character all week. I never heard of him. But I do have to ask, Has the "groundswell" of support Tinsley threatened to generate for him materialiazed? Or was he cartooning while intoxicated again?

5. Who has two annoying habits

1) His tendency to refer to himself as "Williams", in his columns, usually when making up ludicrously lame liberal attacks against himself

2) His tendency to basically write the same column ("Liberalism is unconstitutional...Liberalism is unconstitutional...Liberalism is unconstitutional..."

4. One of the many tell-tale signs of megalomania....

...is believing that everyone you come into contact with shares the same likes and dislikes as yourself, no matter how personal and/or ludicrous.

Somewhere in Tinsley's mind, I think he really does believe that a legion of his zealous followers is pushing some obscure conservative economist into the national spotlight for a presidential run. In real life, I think people are coming to the realization that this Tinsley guy is nuttier than an outhouse rat.

And may I ask why this rubbish is still running on the comics page of the LA Times? Even if I was able to entertain the notion that good conservative humor exists somewhere out there, you'll never convince me that Mallard qualifies as "humor," let alone "good."

7. There does seem to be an assumption that MF has throngs of

adoring fans just waiting to see whom their idol annoints so they can throw their support behind him. I can't decide whether that's more funny or sad.

As for the LA Times, it seems like every day they find new ways to suck, while hanging on to all of the old ones. They run both MF and Prick City, and clearly not because they're funny or well-drawn.
