http://youtube.com/watch?v=t8xufsr2logIt is deplorable how Bush used the Christianity card to win the election in 2000. He stated publically that his favorite philosopher/thinker was Christ, because Christ "changed his heart."
Not a thing, however, that Bush stands for mirrors what Christ actually believed and taught. From what follows below, it should appear quite obvious that Christ didn't do very much changing of W's heart at all.
A few examples:
1. Christ says: "Love your enemies, and forgive those who use and persecute you. The day of forgiveness is at hand."
But Bush replies: "They got a problem on their hands. If they are hiding, we will smoke them out. And we will bring them to justice. And not only will we bring them to justice, but those who harbor them, who hide them, who feed them, who encourage them, to justice."
2. Christ says: "He among you who is without sin, let him cast the first stone."
But Bush replies: "With our actions we will send a clear message to those who kill Americans: we will find you and bring you to justice."
3. Christ: "All who take up the sword shall perish by the sword."
Bush: "I'm a war president. I make decisions here in the oval office on foreign policy matters with war on my mind."
There are several other examples to take into consideration other than the entire zeitgeist created by the Bush Administration, but suffice it to end this post with the ironic statement Bush offered while being interviewed by the Irish press: "The God I know is a God of peace."
There isn't much time.
