You quickly realize how surreal American Republicanism has actually become in recent years.
George Bush has insisted, and insisted, and preached, the virtues of "free market" and the lifting of regulations. Deregulate, free from constraints, do away with the rules. Less rules, less law,...
Wait a minute, now we know.... George Bush is really an anarchist.
That is exactly what anarchists believe in. They believe in doing away with laws, rules, regulations, at the government level. The fewer regulations, the more deregulated, the better it is. For an anarchist. So he is doing well as an anarchist president.
Hey, isn't there a law against anarchists entering the United States of America ? Likely that means that an anarchist cannot be president.
So how did George Bush chance to get elected ? Something must have gone wrong. Must have been that Republican polyster that he was wearing during the first rubber chicken circuit ? Something magical, no doubt.
So shall we exile him to somewhere else, outside the borders of the United States of America ? Can't think what else to do with an anarchist. Not sure any country would take him.
Maybe Guantanamo Bay ?
After all the United States holds firmly to the belief that all anarchists are dangerous terrorists.
If George Bush is an example then they might be right.
His handling of the current fiscal meltdown and his leadership of events leading up to it would be clearly indicative. And he is still intent on claiming that deregulation and freeing the markets to their own good will towards humanity is the way to go !
Nothing could be more surreal than America has become.
Actually you have to remember that anarchist political theorists of any note knew something that George Bush doesn't want to accept any responsibility for. That is that anarchism of any type, at any level of implementation as to anarchist deregulation and freeing of markets, only works for the good if most of the participants are fully enough enlightened and that means adequately and effectively educated. George Bush would have to be classified as an anarchist who has not studied the subject in any depth. Truly a naive anarchist at best, but still an anarchist fitting the label.
