MIDLAND -- The man who walked Midland's streets in full Knights of Ku Klux Klan regalia while holding a handgun this month says the Republican Party is punishing him for his beliefs.

Randy G. Gray II, 30, of Midland said the Midland County Republican Party Executive Committee has eliminated him as a precinct delegate.

''We have military fighting and dying for me to hold this office,'' he said. ''For these people to throw me out like a dog, that's insane. Just because the party doesn't like my personal beliefs doesn't give them the right.''

Gray, voted in as a delegate during an uncontested August election, said party officials turned him away when he showed up to a Republican convention Thursday, telling him his delegate days were done ...

It's nice that The Goop has kicked out one kook-kluxer. But maybe I'll hold off cheering: after all, McCain's 2008 campaign continued The Goop's 40-year effort to stir up the kook-klux demographic

I have a dream,that one day, men will be judged not by the pointyness of their hoods, but by the content of their character. Oh wait, it was the content of this man's character that got him booted out. "Too racist for the Republican Party" - that's a bit like "lacking sufficient academic rigor for Liberty University".

6. Midland? Saginaw?

I'm not surprised at all. I taught a class up there a while back. Creeperfreeperville if I ever saw one. I couldn't wait to get out of there. On the way out, there was a huge billboard on the highway with a brownshirt in a heil-hitler salute pose, with the slogan "Raise your hand if you're Right". Right on the friggin' highway.

Fugs dat. I left and swore never to return, no matter what they offered in consulting fees to come back. That place is full nothing but the granola. Y'know: nuts and flakes all crammed together.
