Republicans Demand Specter Hand Over GOP Cash

... Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., was among the first of the Republicans to ask for a refund. A spokesman told The Hill after the announcement the Republican leader “will be taking Sen. Specter up on his offer.”

On Tuesday, Mr. Specter announced he was leaving the GOP and told supporters he would provide them a refund of their contributions if they sent in a request.

Other Republicans reiterated Mr. McConnell’s sentiments, with Senate Republican Conference Chairman Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., and National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Cornyn, R-Texas, asking Mr. Specter to return their donations. Mr. Cornyn had donated $5,000 through a PAC.

U.S. Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., also made a request to have his $5,000 PAC donation returned ...

2. Perfectly reasonable demands
After Dick Shelby (R-Mercedes-Benz) and Ben Nighthorse Campbell (R-opportunist) switched in the 1990's, they were asked to give their donations back and they did.

3. Yeah, I'd be royally ticked if I gave money and somebody carried it across the aisle
The downside is that now our side gets to fund Specter
