For a university, Liberty has very little (News Leader editorial)
... Are we so far removed from Democrat and Southern Baptist President Jimmy Carter that no Democrats are deemed worthy of being associated with the Lynchburg campus? Can one not be a Democrat and moral? Is this a college where discourse and debate are welcomed? Or must all the views follow the conservative party line?

In a news release announcing it disassociated with the campus club, the university said, "We are in no way attempting to stifle free speech."

Oh yes they are.

By disassociating itself with this club, which is no more radical than our president, our Congress and a majority of American voters, the university has made it clear it does not welcome ideas and debate. Liberty is ironically named ...
