A May 28 headline on The Fox Nation -- Fox News' purportedly bias-free website -- asked: "Should Obama Release Birth Certificate? Or Is This Old News?" ... The Fox Nation's birth certificate headline linked to a video of WorldNetDaily correspondent Les Kinsolving asking White House press secretary Robert Gibbs to "releas a certified copy of his long-form birth certificate" ... During the 2008 campaign, Fox News hosted WND staff writer Jerome Corsi, who claimed that the Obama campaign "has a false, fake birth certificate posted on their website" ... WND has a history of advancing baseless smears and conspiracy theories about Obama, such as false theories about his birth certificate and the discredited account of a man who claimed he "took drugs <and> had homo sex with Obama."

Even Free Republic doesn't seem to have Birther threads any more. In fact, that whole site has become very boring lately for those of us who delight in right-wing craziness. There are rarely threads about how wonderful Sarah Palin is now. Similarly gone are the fascinating ones where Freepers speculate on exactly when Americans will "wake up" and regret electing a Communist dictator. (They were all sure it would happen by May.) No gun-seizure threads, no teleprompter threads. It's like they've given up.
