The Parasite Class
Let's just call these people what they are. You know who I mean: the corporatist cannibals, the media morlocks, the political predators, the finance fucksters, the top 1% in income / bottom 1% in morality. They suck the blood of our economy and of our families. They collude to create more and more ways to rob us, and then act all indignant if anybody has the temerity to point out that "their" wealth was actually created by the other 99% of us.

Collectively, they are the Parasite Class.

3. An excessively greedy overclass
The American people have been too thoroughly brainwashed...I've personally been lectured by a poor woman that "we need the rich because they create the jobs". I don't have a problem with a CEO making even $400 or $500K a year. But making that much in a week, all the while distorting the political system, working to put straitjackets on the poor and middle class, and destroying our financial system and having no concern over massive job losses, is pretty much evil.

5. corporate oligarchy
true, they are the parasite class, but, thats obviously an angry reactionary way to state it. Calling it corporate oligarchy or corporate oligarchs says the same thing using science rather than angst, so, thats wht i try to go with.

7. If we're going to go into classes...
Edited on Fri Jan-08-10 12:56 AM by Mrdie
Why not just use bourgeoisie? It's more logical than some disconnected "parasite" class (which sounds more like a term demagogues would use to refer to "international bankers" and such, which quickly turns into anti-Semitism).

Might as well go Marxist if anything. "The proletarian is obliged to offer his labor power to the bourgeoisie who purchases it in order to extract surplus value which is used in the creation of commodities, which are then exchanged for more money; this process repeats..."

9. Yes and No
***the corporatist cannibals, the media morlocks, the political predators, the finance fucksters, the top 1% in income / bottom 1% in morality.***

Okay, there's a lot of stuff mixed up here. I agree 100% with "the corporate cannibals". These people come in as CEO with the sole purpose of making money for the shareholders, no matter what the cost to workers, communities and even the companies themselves. They are truly bottom feeders. "Media morlocks, political predators, fincance fucksters"...not sure what you mean.

The "top 1% in income" is not necessarily a bad thing and does not always equate with the "bottom 1% in morality". If someone actually creates a new product or business, then they create thousands of jobs and deserve to make money.

10. Think I'd raise the anty to maybe the top 10 percent.
Otherwise, the parasitic notion comes across fine, especially for those granted their wealth through inheritance. The others just ought to know better, or at least follow the example of the Gates family.

11. Forgive me my number are old
but 20% of those earning less than 30k a year feel they will become rich in their lifetime. Further, 19% of Americans feel they are in the top 1% of wage earners and 20% in their minds will be someday. So there are 39% of Americans thinking they are or will be in the parasite class, with 20% of people earning less than 30k thinking they will get to be included. Sorry for the reiteration, I'm trying to be as clear as possible in my typing when numbers are involved.
