Poll: Iowans skeptical about Palin
DES MOINES, Iowa - A new poll for The Des Moines Register shows 55 percent of Iowans hold an unfavorable opinion of Sarah Palin ... The poll, published in a copyright story in Monday's newspaper, found 37 percent of Iowans feel favorable about Palin, while 8 percent are unsure. Among Iowa Republicans, 68 percent view Palin favorably ... http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-ap-ia-iowapoll-palin,0,6792856.story

2. You know that. And I know that. And in fact a majority of people know that. But as the GOP
continues to lose its remaining moderates and even its central rightists, the remnants of the party are dominated more and more by fringe elements

From the OP: Among Iowa Republicans, 68 percent view Palin favorably. This is a bad sign for the GOP, but it's consistent with something I posted yesterday:

Poll: Majority of Republicans Believe ACORN Stole the Presidential Election
... a 52% majority of GOP voters nationally think that ACORN stole the Presidential election for Barack Obama ...

It's also consistent with a Kos poll back in July showing less than half of Republicans were willing to accept that Obama was born in the US:

Daily Kos/Research 2000 Poll
Research 2000, MoE 2%, Jul 27, 2009 - Jul 30, 2009
