Book Suggestions for Understanding Religious Right

I'm compiling a bibliography here and am consequently casting my net pretty widely. I'm interested in histories of the religious right, in sociological analysis of it, in studies of particular groups, etc. I'll take popular press stuff like The Family, but would love citations of things from academic presses.

I can't remember his name, but I'll think about it and come back to you. It's not an academic offering, but it might be helpful in seeing it from the first person.

Seriously. I tried to understand them and their thinking and I've decided that they've just decided to submit themselves to demagogues.

There's no brain activity with the ones I know.
