5. Conservatives are basically former tories anyway...

The progression is pretty natural. Tories and wealthy aristocrats --> Slave owners, monied families and wealthy merchants --> Former slave owners and poor whites who wish they had slaves, and wealthy captains of industry --> modern conservatives.

when I'm just making an observation that the Freeper posters are more jubilant about this event than the DU community...ok then i'll provide some examples

and i saw a lot of happy emoticons scattered in places

and people were begging to know which tv stations were showing the wedding or where to watch it online and obsessing over trivia like their first child
