Glen Rice and Sarah Palin Reportedly Had One-Night Stand
Source: larry brown sports

Sarah hooked up with the NBA great, then a 6-foot-8 junior at the University of Michigan when he was playing in a college basketball tournament in Alaska in 1987, the book says. At the time, Sarah, just out of college, was working as a sports reporter for the Anchorage TV station KTUU.

A publishing source told The ENQUIRER that McGinniss claims Sarah had a “fetish” for black men at the time and he quotes a friend as saying Sarah had “hauled (Rice’s) ass down.”

23. Oh Puh-leeeeze !! Cudashaggin' a Black hoops-guy, yessirree !
And while we're there.... how's that "cudashag" as a default/generic term for white girls going after Black athletes ?

"She want some CUDASHAG !!"

Give Sarah Palin her own piece of linguistic immortality.

You wouldn't look at her then and suspect "future presidental candidate material"

8. It doesn't matter what she does - she has been chosen
She could have an affair now and it wouldn't matter. The past doesn't matter and there are no consequences when you've been chosen.

13. What consequences should there be?
Edited on Wed Sep-14-11 08:59 AM by RZM
It was 1987, she wasn't married at the time, and who gives a flying fuck?

15. "It's her own business". Sure, and Republicans love it when Dems let them off the hook this way.
Democrats want to be all righteous and noble that who Palin slept with is her own choice, but Republicans would use the same opportunity in a heartbeat to bring down a Democrat. We've seen it happen, and it works.

The very least Democrats should do is to point out the hypocrisy of what Republicans say as opposed to what they do or have done. They can't have it both ways.

17. Explain to me how this kind of news could 'bring down a Democrat.'
There's no 'hook' be off of here. Sure, you can do damage if that the pol or partner was married at the time, or the there was some sort of lawbreaking associated with the sex. But I see none of that here. Unmarried Democrats were fucking people too in 1987 and last I checked not a single one has suffered a negative consequence for it.

19. Quite a different scenario
1) Weiner was married
2) Weiner lied about it
3) Weiner tweeted his cock
4) Weiner was 46 years old
5) Weiner held public office
6) It was 2011, not 1987

If Weiner had lost his career for fucking somebody in 1987, your argument would make perfect sense. But that's not what happened.

21. Not even remotely close
People don't like being lied to. People don't like middle aged elected officials tweeting their cock. People don't like married men chatting it up with women on the internet.

People don't, however, care much about who was fucking whom in 1987. How many posters here are even arguing that she even did anything wrong? DU is about an anti-Palin as is possible and I haven't seen a post arguing that yet.

DU does, however, have quite a few people who didn't appreciate being lied to by a congressman they liked and respected.

he says this is being widely reported on the sports stations he listens to - and that Rice is not denying the story.

27. exactly
I could not care less. If this were a liberal woman we would all be up in arms about this attack. I disagree with Palin's politics but this smear stuff is just too republican for my tastes. The high road is still the right road. Win in the market place of ideas and leave the garbage to the Ken Stars of the world.
