The American Conservative on "The Pinocchio Presidency"

I was browsing the shelves at our local Books A Million yesterday and came across the current issue of The American Conservative magazine. You can imagine my shock and awe at the cover story, "The Pinocchio Presidency," complete with an illustration of *, Condi, et al., with long, liars noses.

It's a great article and pulls no punches. The thrust is that the Bush administration is a bunch of dirty liars who lied us into an unnecessary war with Iraq. There's a good piece in there too called "Outsource the Neocons!"

Yes, I bought the magazine.

It was a strange and eerie feeling, reading articles in Pat Buchanan's magazine which could easily be posted here at DU.

Sorry I don't have a link to the full text of these pieces, but I've included a link to the magazine's website, so maybe you can get a feel for what I'm talking about.

Perhaps The American Conservative has been against * all along and everybody knew it but me. If that's so, color me embarassed. But this seemed like a breakthough when I saw it on the shelf.

A lot of traditional conservatives have been against the Bush regime for a long time. I wouldn't expect them to vote for Kerry though.
