Whether it is with the Christian Coalition, Focus on the Family or other evangelical organizations, affiliations between conservative Christian groups and the Republican Party are the norm. The hierarchy of the American Christian community makes no secret of their disagreements with liberal Democrats. This is also true within your average evangelical church and community members. Traditional political ideas and culture rule in mainstream Christian America.

The unification of these ideas within the body is not necessarily a bad thing. Being conservative myself, I see this unification as an advantage when confronting various political issues and cultural problems. And obviously, the evangelical community being unified in the ideals of conservative politics has avoided the common problem of quarrelling within the church.



These are all fine aspects of the evangelical body. Yet, there are aspects of the conservative Christian community that are not so fine. When it comes to ideas, people and love, Christians can become severely hypocritical. Yes, I know; it's hard to believe anyone would accuse Christians of being hypocritical, but I will proceed in explaining my view.

One of the biggest problems with the Christian conservative community and the conservative community overall is how ideas are of the utmost importance. We mistakenly put all our chips in our ideas and not our love. I admit to being guilty of this myself.

Ive talked with Kyle...I like the kid...he's certainly a conservative...but he's burned Bush a couple of times in his columns too...plus he's not afraid to stand up to the Robertson-Falwell-Bush shenanigans either

7. Future progressive

This kid writes much better than most graduate students that I have known.

He will eventually become a progressive unless the "conservative" movement returns to its true conservative roots, which seems unlikely any time soon.

10. Who does the right look to for advice? 15-year-old dropouts!

This little punk is a 15-year-old dropout. He may have written something "edgy" for a fundy website, but one little chestnut does not a genius make. The bigger issue is that fundy Republicans are looking to a 15-year-old school dropout for editorial advice. That pterry much tells you everything about the intellectual capacity of your average Republican.

I know a number of people who chose that option and had no regrets.

12. He didnt drop out of HS

He was homeschooled his entire life...went to public school for a semester...felt he was being held back by the rest of the students and had some bad teachers...and went back to being homeschooled..

I did the exact same thing except Ive only been homeschooled for two years...but I didnt "drop out of HS"...Hell Im graduating with two years of college under my belt and will have finished my degree way before any of my peers

As another fugitive from the public school system, I totally support adopting this strategy. I have a 9th grade education, a GED and a Bachelors of Science degree.
