Who is the most annoying Repuke in your life and why?
My brother in law.
The weds past I had a person plow into daughters and myself .It totaled my car.
So my mother in law/bro in law came to pick my husband up to bring him to crash site.(long story)
So as I was waiting for the police to fill out all the paperwork
my bro in law was going on how evil the government is.
I just sat back and reminded him he had a lawsuit in the court.
His response was the court system does not count as government.I started to mention the hmmm 3 branch of government thingy but hey what do I know? Im just a blond liberal (actually progressive which he says really means liberal but Im too ashamed to be called liberal )(hes retired gov employee.)
So my bro in law gets it for being the biggest conservative jerk in my life.

who is an honest-to-god Bible conservative. But now he's been supersceded by my step-father, who is older and less intellectual (ie, less subject to reason) than my brother. Both listen to Rush Limp-f***, and both fear females and non-whites taking over the world.

I am well and truly f***ed by the men on my side of the family. The women related to ScrewyRabbit are mostly rational.

Fortunately, most everyone on my wife's side are liberal freaks, at least in their voting habits.

6. What is it with brother-in-laws!
My BIL is an "Independent" and he's about as independent as Bill O'Reilly. (Well, not quite.) He thinks Dems play dirty politics! We must be living in a parallel universe. My sister is as liberal as me and says it's starting to wear on their marriage these past few years. They especially argue a lot about the war. So I argue with him for her sometimes when she gets sick of it. He'll email me on a specific topic, we'll argue until he has no valid response and doesn't write back again. A few weeks later he writes back with a new topic. We've actually managed to get him to the point where he won't vote for Bush, but he refuses to vote for Kerry either.

Other than that, I don't associate with any right-wingers. Life is too short. :hippie:

11. One of my teachers
She was my Soc. Studies, Sociology, and Law and Justice teacher. I love her to death, she's my favorite teacher, but she's just so damn conservative. She's a true Bible-thumper. She would lecture the class on how Democrats and liberals are the pariah of modern times and I would argue with her constantly, from abortion, to the War in Iraq, to gay marriage, to social programs, and I swear it was impossible to get her to admit that she was wrong. She's honestly a great teacher even though she's a hardcore religious fanatic. I can't wait until I take Global Issues with her next year so I can argue with her some more. Actually, come to think of it, my World Civ teacher was like that too, he always talked about how we needed the Patriot Act and how great the Bush Administration is...

A neighbor who went on and on about Clinton's sins, then called me at work to pick her up after she got stranded by the married man she was having an affair with. She is a heavy drinker, pot smoker, believes abortion should be legal, but 'Daddy may cut me out of the trust fund so I have to act like I love Bush!"

Her father: an obnoxious alchoholic bore who never learned how to have a civil argument with anyone...

14. It has to be my neighbor
After he called the cops on us (three times) for "making too much noise," we did an experiment and found out that it was just because the walls were so thin. I accused him of supporting "the police state," and levied a whole rant on authoritarianism, the right, the Iraq invasion, Chrisitan atrocity. When I was up there, I saw they have a stuffed GOP elephant, and to top it off -- they're Evangelical Christians. I'm OK with personal religious beliefs, but GOP Evangies make me want to nail my own feet to a piece of wood.

The worst part is: they're really nice now, and he's a Ph.D. candidate in poli sci -- so the reason they're so irritating is because I don't understand WHYYYYYYY they support the GOP. Being smart, supposedly moral --- I don't get it. They even own a Jetta.;)

It's easier with my Southern Illinois relatives -- I'm like, "you're just dumb and scared and homewhitebread&gravy." I don't get the neighbors. I've tried and tried to figure them out.

16. Not American, and not living in the US, but....
I would like to nominate my ex co-worker, who recently moved back to the US from Tokyo.
Why is he being nominated?

- Goes to the supermarket in Tokyo and makes sure that his wife does not buy French products
- Believes that HIV has never been contracted through heterosexual relations ( ! )
- Worships Bill O'Lielly and uses FOX News as his main source of info
- "Us and Them" -attitude (as in Us - Good, They - Evil)
- 100% support of the war in Iraq
- Hates Clinton because "He lied to the American people" (...and Bush didn't ?!?!)

There are loads more but I believe the above points pretty much qualifies the guy for the title.

My first post on this board, although I have been an avid reader of the DU website and felt that I needed to vent off a bit of steam and also say that most of the world see things "your" way, or the Dem way. America has never been as popular as it was during the Clinton era, and hardly ever as hated as it currently is under Bush.

If only we were allowed to vote in Nov...

I have cousins in France, who are French mind you, not Ex Pats, who say the same thing. My cousin Serge asked why FREEDOM FRIES? All I can say to Serge, and to you, is "The Election was stolen from us" We fight and fight, but we have "the Patriot act" which defies our Constitution. The nationalism in America is Nazi/Puritan, which means "Christian Taliban meets Fascism". Great title for a movie, huh. All that I can ask you to do is to tell your friends that Most of America HATES Bush. We, the Majority, Hate war. Most of us love our fellow man, we are the melting pot. Spread the word that "CHIMP-MAN" does not define us.

One of my oldest and best friends. (Known him since I was 5 yrs. old.) He has an advanced degree from an elite university. He is the dumbest smart guy I know. Or, rather, a regurgitation of every Republican talking-point. He is immune to reason on this subject. (Sigh!)

He was my roommate freshman year, and basically swallowed EVERYTHING bushco said. Plus, he was extremely ignorant about the most basic of issues; he didn't know what the ACLU was, until I told him about it. Three days later, he was calling it the "bane of freedom." He never got tired of the old "flip-flop" line; and what gets me, is that he absolutely loved Al Franken's books, hated rush limbaugh, and said he would vote for Dean, if he had been nominated. I suspect that he might have been trying to just annoy me, in which case hes just a world-class asshole

Mostly, I'm talking about the freaks I encounter on message boards. It's funny to watch them squirm. Then, there's that weird, ice-cracking sound you can almost hear when they realize their arguments are bullshit, and the defeaning silence they answer with when they're proved completely wrong, or even the moon-rocket escalation of half-truths and distortions that sometimes happens when they refuse to concede defeat and insist on continuing to post.

While I love these guys (we started our chapter from scratch) they are all dyed in the wool Southern arch-conservatives. One of them, who is pursuing a degree in Political Science, tried to explain to me, the Double History Major, how Reagan engineered the downfall of the Communist Russia and its satellite states. You go into their rooms and they all have Fox News on 24/7. The real kicker is that they're all fairly intelligent people, just brainwashed by their region.

There's what could be a FAB progressives message board, hosted by a terrific wonderful radio personality. The board is meant for progressives, but unfortunately there are 3 RWWs who just cannot resist their natural inclination to name-call and post a ton of totally spurious garbage over & over again.

They are 3 of the most ignorant, misinformed, nasty, mealy-mouthed "people" I have ever had the misfortune to come across.

And so I'm here, hoping to actually debate and discuss ISSUES...based on *gasp* FACTS!

And to yap with my pal Joanne without being constantly attacked by the 3 nasties on that other board. :) Hi Joanne!

It's just not worth posting when you have to wade thru their miles of crap and when you know everything you post, no matter what it is, will just get a ton of posts from them doing their name-calling mocking act. They know they're ignorant of the facts, but they don't care. Their only goal is to cause trouble any way they can. It's like being in grade school with the school bullies, and I'd rather discuss the actual issues with actual grown-ups, lol!

46. My father
Because he will not debate on issues, choosing instead to simply toss out taglines and catchphrases lifted straight from the catechism of Conservatism. Of course, that's typical of them but he carries it to extremes and combines it with his "I'm older than you so must know better" bit (I'm 43).

A close second is my brother, who ends all debates with the line, "You don't know what you're talking about."

are evangelical christian repubs, but they don't have any information to back up their arguments. When we talk politics, the debate quickly degenerates into insults from my friend or interruptions to keep me from debunking the spew. We have since quite discussing politics. The surprising things is, his dad was one of the smartest people I know, a pastor, and was very socially conscious, I don't understand what happened when the apple fell from the tree.

Runner up would be my mom, I love her to death, but she gets all her information from Faux News and still believes we found WMD in Iraq. Won't listen to any information and thinks W was a war hero??

Father-in-law comes in close third, same thing with Faux News, actually heard him tell my wife the other day that Faux was the only fair and balanced network showing both sides of the issues/debates. Almost fell out of my chair laughing, but managed to contain it until I could step outside and guffaw.

My classmate, let's name her Ms. J.... On My University's Political Science Club's Field Trip to D.C., we took a tour of the Capital Building...where we saw Sen.Trent"The Rugmaster Confederate"Lott walking about 15 feet away us, at that moment I yell out his name...he looks at us and smiles... afterwards I with the help of my fellow Libs start a series of Trent Lott Cracks, while Ms.J start a series of various Democrats cracks....afterwards we are in the van going home, and I start talking with the rest of club about the day in general, where I refer to Trent Lott smiling as "creepy", at that point Ms. J starts to yelling in my face, that she meet Trent Lott before, and he is a "very Nice Man", and "I shoudn't insult him", to which I have to bite my tougue to, even though I should of told her that she is just as guilty as I am because earlier that day she made fun of democrats and call several of them "evil". And that is the reason my classmate Ms. J. gets it. NOTE: even through this story does seem a little out there I swear on the Bill of Rights that it is 100 percent TRUE!!!

Yet she supports Bush because "he really brought the country together after 9-11" :puke: and "people should support the war against terrorism" :puke: :eyes: She has taken to calling her liberal friends tree-huggers and gets upset if you try to explain facts to her. Her response to any attempt at a logical argument can best be described as "LA LA LA I'm not listening!!"

What it boils down to is this: She is in her early thirties with a teen-aged son, wants to have more children, and is desperate to find a suitable (read rich) husband and provider. The wealthy men she dates tend to be conservative Repukes so she sucks up to them. Sadly for her, they just use her for sex and then dump her. Guess they're not all about Family Values after all, eh?

I'm not even sure if he's a conservative but I'm talking to this douche when he says well what did Clinton do when they attacked the WTC in '93, so I told him that he arrested the people who were responsible for it. And get this; he tells me that his friend was on the helicopter when they were supposed to arrest Ramzi Yousef, and he said they didn't arrest him. I somehow restrained myself from doubling over in laughter.
