Nice Republicans
So I'm walking this morning and I see my first trainwreck of the election season, a Bush/Cheney lawn sign. Grrrrrr I mutter as I contemplate different ways to destroy or deface the sign (which I won't, this is all pure fantasy).

Worst thing of all: the guy who lives there is really friendly and if he's out when I walk by he always smiles or waves and says hi, and a couple of times his big-ass Ford F350 was blocking the sidewalk and he apologized profusely.

Nice Republicans, how can they exist? I wonder if he would be so nice if he knew about me...?

1. Most people are nice --
just not well informed. My wife's aunt is a Repug. She would would do anything for my family. Of course she lives on steady diet of FAUX news.

2. I have a republican neighbor who has a yard sign that says,
"Support president (sic) bush* and our troops." It pisses me off every time I see it. I think I'm going to make my own that says "Support Kerry and our troops."

3. Shameless use of the troops as a sheild.
Righty Sheeple will always have something about "the troops" in their demonstration and yard signs, so if you give quarrel with their opinions, you automatically have something against "the troops."

Chickenshits.

5. I finally asked my neighbor who has the same sign about it
He said it was the only "support the troops" sign he could find. He has no use for Bush, but hasn't decided who else he'll vote for.

I suggested spray paint on the offending portion of the sign.

6. Not all are so nice. Our Beat Bush 2004 group (with shirts saying
the same) were registering voters at a F9/11 showing when harassing Bush
supporters came by and threw salt shakers at us which broke on the sidewalk and sent glass flying. We later found out they were stolen from
a nearby restaurant. That evening and next day followed with very ugly threatening phone calls at our Beat Bush headquarters. We now have to schedule two people at all times and have had to notify the police. I hate to think of the level of hatefulness by the time November gets here.

Republicans are NOT our enemies. Remember, we are liberals--we don't confuse political opponents for enemies.

9. Most Repubs I know are very nice people.
They're just misinformed, that's all. That's where we come in: educating people.
