How can President Bush II and Congress go on vacation with troops in iraq
Edited on Wed Aug-13-03 04:08 AM by rusk2003
over 147,000 troops in Iraq and 2300 soon more in Liberia along with his administration. SOUNDS SO SLEEZY. Did he forget he is also their Comander In Chief.

Even more so wiht all of the bloodshead of our troops gee what must that do for their moral.

And atleast Congress should be at least a little more responsible but when it is controled by Freepers what do we expect.

1. This is a damn good question
David Letterman asked how Bush* could possibly take a vacation for a month. He asked if any of his audience got a month of vacation. He said that the difference was that they were needed on their jobs.

2. Stars & Stripes and David Hackworth
have gotten letters from the troops in Iraq. They're surviving on inadequate rations: maybe 3 liters of bottled water a day in punishing heat, wearing hot uniforms and heavy equipment. They don't have enough to eat. Supplies are inadequate.

And what's Bush doing: He's having a barbecue.

3. I read this earlier on another post. This is unforgivable
Our troops need respite. They need to come home. Never having served, Bush* has no understanding of the sacrifice these men and women are making. They need adequate food, water, rest and reinforcements. They are getting none of this from the Bush* administration.:-(

Welcome to DU, photons! It's great to have you among us!:toast:

4. Our troops are in the Good Hands of Haliburton
Heck, they get 2 or 3 MRE's a day, and a liter and a half of water. What more do they want? Air conditioning? There's no air conditioning in the desert. You only find that kind of thing on a Texas Ranch.

I want George Bush to eat 2 or 3 MREs in 125 degree heat with only 2 liters of water every day for a week! We wouldn’t see him for a month. He’s be praying to his gold plated toilet seat for it to kill him. Then at least there would be no more fundraising barbeques. I hope he gets food poisoning.

7. The GOP claims that the country was a mess on account of Clinton
and that they were needed to save us from years of Clinton decay. But when he was in office he worked a grueling 7 months before he decided a one month vacation was in order. During this 7 months, intelligence memo after intelligence memo was missed or ignored and while the Shrub was on vacation- 9/11 happened.

If the country was (is) in such a mess, why are one month vacations in order?

9. Troop Pay
Some show today had some guest say that they had changed their mind about cutting troop pay. If they don't have enough money does that mean that they will cut payments to the rebuilders?

Separate subject, why do they stage the reporters (so called) in front of the shacks on the pig farm?

12. I believe that they have decided not to cut the hazard and
separation pay given to the troops. And they are, finally, being given definite dates when they will be going home. Those who make it home, that is.;(

15. Easy - Nero fiddled while Rome burned, didn't he?
The Power Arrogant have zero problem with partying while their citizens suffer. Remember, they (the power elite) are the chosen ones, the privileged, the entitled. They must have comfort, elongated vacations and amenities flowing like wine in order to do their extremely difficult jobs of gutting the nation.

This should not surprise anyone. Surely we have not forgotten all of the tee times that GHWB scheduled during his singular term of dishonor.

16. It's a good investment
at least if he's on vacation he's doing less harm.
