Supporting a nuclear freeze "while Reagan was winning the Cold War" Are we all living on the same planet?????? How in God's name is a nuclear arms race a positive thing?????? Then he turns around and says Saddam was bad because he spent all his money on his military and his alleged WMD's to the detriment of his people, yet he praises Reagan for the EXACT SAME THING

1. We all know what really broke the Cold War was the endless war
being fought in Afghanistan. That broke the bank. Sounds familiar?

2. That's what I've been telling people:
Usama Bin Laden knew what destroyed the USSR: that war and the cold war drove them broke. He's trying to do the same thing to us now.

6. good point
Afghanistan always seems to be forgotten in that discussion. Although if that was Osama's plan he was doing a really crappy job of it until bush blundered into Iraq.

7. Maybe he didn't care if it was Iraq or Afghanistan, but he is smart.
No doubt he knew how Bush and the people around him felt about Saddam. Maybe the bait was just taken.

3. another thing
that won the cold war was Chernobyl. The denial of the Soviets to deal with it was a huge mistake.
The end of the Cold war wasn't because of Reagan.
I traveled extensively in the East in the 80's. The people were sick of being poor and sick of being lied to.

8. "...sick of being poor and sick of being lied to."
Sounds rather prophetic, doesn't it? May we quote you on that? You are so right on!

4. John Wayne won WW11. Reagan won "Cold War".
Of course neither were actually in the military.
