Kerry should be glad he lost....

FOR THOSE of us who were disappointed, and even horrified, by George W. Bush’s return to power there was one consolation in yesterday’s result. On the contrary, the previously unmentionable hope for the supporters of liberal politics in America, is that Senator Kerry has done the Democratic Party a favour of immense, historic proportions by losing to Mr Bush. In military history, it is a commonplace that there are certain battles worth losing rather than winning — and if ever this were true in politics, then the 2004 US election would be a case in point.

1. I was thinking about this all year.
What if Bush's failed policies came back to haunt President Kerry?

:scared:

The Democrats would be FUCKED for failed Republican Policy.

Better the Rethugs FUCK themselves with their failures than to give this blame to the party of FDR!!!

3. Agreed.
And had the sh*t hit the fan during Kerry's term; the repubs would be blaming him as they blame Clinton for everything now.

Sorry freepers, no more blaming Clinton when this country goes into the crapper. The blame will fall squarely on your "man" and the sheeple that voted for him.

12. And no more blaming the liberal media, Hollywood, etc.
If the shit hits the fan, it's all their fault. Have you noticed that they've won, yet they're still complaining? The anti-Bush media was mean to us! Perhaps in the Bizarro-world maybe. They win the thing, and Dick Morris starts making shit up about the Left rigging exit polls. :wtf:

2. Along that same line of reasoning
bush probably wishes he's lost. In a few short months, there will be no doubt.

4. They could spin a nuclear holocaust into
crowd control, healthy population control, or removing the 'underbrush' from the population. And we know it'd be in a blue state - that way they could redistrict electoral votes no sweat.

5. this article pulled me out of my depression over the election
I'm glad this article was posted. When I read it early this a.m., I got over my depression about our loss real fast.

The fact of the matter is that with no Democratic control in the House or Senate, Kerry would have been a punching bag for the r-wing nutz who would have blamed these enormous problems we're facing on him.

As a nation, we're going to have to hit rock bottom before we see the light of day. This probably means economic collapse, a nuke lobbed our way or a major catastrophe by Mother Nature.

9. NOT glad we lost
Nevertheless, that the Neo-Cons are saddled for the next four years with a mess of their own making should be splendid opportunity for a future liberal resurgence.

Hopefully we last that long . . .

10. I've seen the problem of Dem's getting blamed for *'s mess all year
The problem now is to keep them from going to for to the right while the rest of the sheep figure out what they have gotten us into. If we don't keep our guard up and make noise every time they try to take away more of our freedoms, there won't be anything left after they are done.

11. Careful what you wish for
This kind of reasoning may look ok from an armchair perspective. But what about the people in Iraq? What about gays and lesbians? What about all those poor girls not getting the abortion they may need? What about....

Not everybody can afford a four year "politically strategic" wait. Try telling someone like that that it is ok that Kerry lost.

The argument is centered around the democratic party regaining control "after all this is over". What makes you so sure this will happen? Why will the next election be all fair? Why will all the upcoming problems be attributed to Bush? Why will the media suddenly realize who's really to blame?

It's not a perfect world, sitting and waiting usually doesn't improve it.

13. HMMMM.....
Yes, I was scared that Kerry would win and they (republitards) would blame Kerry for everything that the Bushies did....

NOW, time for our attack!! KEEP ON EM... make him clean up his own mess, or impeach his ass.

14. On the other hand...

One thing (of many) I was looking forward to with a Kerry win was a return to the good old days of gridlock -- when there were checks & balances in Washington.

15. The war will still be going on in 2008...
because the current group needs a national emergency as an excuse for their failed economic policy and as cover for the fact that they have no interest in really delivering on the "values" issues they pretend to embrace. 4 years from now they will campaign on the need to "stay the course' in the war on terror, which by then will mean Iran, Syria or a cabal of nefarious blue-state insurgents.

16. Yep. They'll play all their cards at once which means they will lose the
white house for many years to come. It will be easy for dems to run on the theme "republican president = war + failed economy; democratic president = peace + robust economy"

Unfortunately, the repukes have the voting machines rigged to show a "close" election. I really don't know how we are going to get past their cheating.
