John Ashcroft will leave his post... this is good...
Ashcroft leaves. This is good.

Specter says he will not be bullied on SCOTUS appointees. This is good.

Specter says he never said those words, and will lie down in front of the pResident's nominees and let them pass. This is bad.

* tells press conference he has political capital and the 'will of the people', so bug off. This is bad.

Ashcroft will be appointed to SCOTUS. He will serve for a generation, soaring like an eagle. This is worst.

I feel horribly for our kids, and their kids

I live in Pennsylvania, and plan on calling and emailing Specter's office as often as I can. If you live here,...

His Washington office number is 1.202.224.4254

His email address is: <Arlen_Specter@specter.senate.gov >

We should be in touch with the whole Judiciary committee.

2. I don't think Ashcroft will be going to SCOTUS.
All I've heard is that he's leaving for health reasons, and probable replacement will be Giuliani(sp). I actually think Rudy would be quite an improvement.

7. I'd bet good money that Bush will immediately nominate
Ashcroft for SC when Rehnquist retires.

It's his MO. Whenever you predict what Bush will do all you have to do is think the worst and double it. You'll seldom be wrong.

8. Ashcroft is going for SCOTUS
His health reason is probably going to a spa for a tan and a massage....

The Democrats have to filibuster this one to kingdom come.

With him leaving, Lady Justice will be able to bear her breast again. This is good.

:)
