How to Freak Out a Fundamentalist
Many of the Fundamentalist use the King James Version of the Bible.

What most of these do not realize is that King James I of England was gay.

My source is a book called Shakespeare A to Z

There are probably other sources on the Internet as well.

To many fundamentalists, their hatred of gays runs so deep that this thought is disconcerting.

2. That is funny and ironic, but not helpfully
First, the fundies do not like the KJV of the bible necessarily
It is useful to them at times because it is written in old English which is kind of hard to understand by people who do not read much. But you will find that when certain parts of it come up they immediately revert to some other translation to make their point, because if you use the KJV it contradicts their point.
I will give you an example; In KJV Jesus is quoted as saying "Resist not Evil" and anytime this comes up with fundies they will use some other version and change it to "resist not an evil man" a clear change of meaning.
And King James did not o the translation himself, but commissioned it to be done. And as a fact, it is the best literal translation that has ever been made.

3. Bush Conservatism
The asshole is immoral he wouldn't even shake Arafat's hand. Doesn't the Bible say do unto others as you would have them do unto you. That is the sign of a righteous man. Here is what these conservatives done to the people of this country. They stole the surplus and gave it to the rich and then gave them a big tax break. the stole our money. that surplus was ours. and bush and Chaney stole it. Conservative SOBs:mad:

13. Know what I think?
I think Arafat and Ringo Starr are the same person.

Consider this:

They've never been seen together.

I rest my case.

8. On so many levels
Is Bush immoral according to the teachings of Jesus, patulary when read in the KJV of the bible.
I could give you dozens of examples, but no need to preach to the quire, you already know it instinctively without hearing ti in the words of Jesus.
To me it is such a shame that people who have the real word of the Lord Jesus (actually I prefer to call him The Master Jesus) have no TV program or platform from which to teach the real word of God. And that the progressives don't get behind them even if they are agnostic or atheist themselves because truth is truth in every case.
But if you have never read the words of Jesus (it is in only 4 books of the bible Mathew Mark Luke a and John) just try it no matter what your belief and see if there is anything in there that you would find conservative (in the KJV now because it is the best if not the easiest). If you find anything at all I will ether explain it to you or eat the page you found it on.

on using KJV. They explain away the inconsistencies.

"Best literal translation ever made?" What the heck does that mean? A literal translation by definition is not a good translation because the meaning is corrupted whan one language is "literally" translated into another. Furthermore it is not possible to literally translate one modern language into another and it is even more difficult to literally translate ancient languages into modern languages. Heck, the literal meaning of words change within the SAME
language from one generation to the next or even from one locality to another. "Gay person" for example, has an entirely different meaning today compared to 1940.

6. Very ironic, but it would fall on deaf ears.
Like zeemike pointed out, they love the KJV, but aren't as opposed to using more current translations than they used to be, especially when it suits their needs. And anyway, they don't read it for themselves, they just listen to and believe whatever their preachers tell them!

The evidence seems circumstantial and is disputed. On the other hand, there is enough to make a claim, and it will get them thinking and maybe researching.

9. The evidence is a bit more than circumstantial.....
... in 1617 James addressed the venerable Privy Council with an official affirmation of his right to love men:

I, James, am neither a god nor an angel, but a man like any other. Therefore I act like a man and confess to loving those dear to me more than other men. You may be sure that I love the Earl of Buckingham more than anyone else, and more than you who are here assembled. I wish to speak in my own behalf and not to have it thought to be a defect, for Jesus Christ did the same, and therefore I cannot be blamed. Christ had John, and I have George.

And there is much more at this link:

11. Absolutely fascinating!
I've heard homosexuality was actually more common in history than admitted (outside of Greece and Rome, of course), but I didn't know there was relatively empirical evidence of James himself being gay.
