Millionaires on the rise (CNN Money)
NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - The number of millionaire households in the United States by mid-year 2003 grew to the highest level in 20 years, a study said Tuesday.

The ranks of millionaire households jumped 14 percent to 3.8 million, up from 3.3 million in 2002 and 3.7 million in 2001, according to NFO WorldGroup, a market research and consulting firm, which conducts an annual survey of affluent households.

The 3.8 million was the highest in the 20 years that NFO has been conducting its surveys.

2. There may be a contradiction in the article.
The article cites the increase in real estate values, and then refuses to include most forms of real estate in the count. Also, why the increase while the NASDAQ was crashing?

5. Are we in utopia?
Everyone starts off an even playing field in your world, I take it.

You missed the point of the post. The further concentration of wealth pointed out is the result of huge tax cuts on the people recieving thier income in dividends. If it wasn't this early I would followup by showing you percentages and amount of concentration inherent in the stock market, as well.

It's not bash the rich. It's call out the shitty economic policy.

7. I like the handy household hints at becoming a millionare
I found by clicking on related stories. "If you are 40 and have an income of $75,000 you should have a net worth of $300,000" How many jobs earn $75,000? NOT very damn many. I just galls me that people buy into the "you too can be rich" line of crap! I am not rich I do not aspire to be rich in monetary terms. I have two children I have spent a fortune on giving a college education. I have two grand children. I am plenty rich! I just want a just society so my grand children can have the same or better then I. By taxing the working to enrich the rich we are destroying that opportunity for not just my grandchildren but all of future generations.
