Jobs Moving Overseas
Just caught congressional hearing held today on offshoring and the loss of jobs overseas.

Will be repeated at 11PM, CSPAN2.

At least this is getting some bipartison attention in Congress.

1. This says it all..
In an early Star Trek movie, Mr. Spock says, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few."

In today's corporate world that has changed to, "The wants of the few outweigh the needs of the many."

2. We could so kick Repub ass with this issue!
I can only hope the Dems will make it issue #1, but sadly, our party's leader (TM) is a complete asshole with no leadership skills at all, so we must wait for it to smack all Americans in the face.

3. Electioneering
They'll make all the right noises.

The ones you want to hear.

Truth will have nothing to do with it.

4. As I understand,
another 1.4 million jobs are about to move to India. There is a big demand for customer service and technician skills, and the Hindus are supplying it. For about $2 an hour. They even train their employees to speak with an american twang. They're ambitious, and they're hard working.

There is absolutely no way Americans can compete. Those jobs are gone for good, and they're not coming back.

5. So what happens when the world realizes there aren't enough jobs?
Will we fight wars over jobs?
Will we ration jobs out like CO2 emmitions in Kyoto?
Will we have to make up ficticious things to do?

Will we have world wide unions?
Will we strike together?

Will we speak of solidarity with those guys in India getting $2 an hour to work the phones?

Or will we be divided and conquered?
