1. Delayed, if news accounts are correct

2. hmmm....I just did a search....
and the article the above poster mentioned...http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/LAC.20060314.RIRAN14/TPStory/?query
...is the only one I found. After all the hype, I find it eerily strange that there is no news on it's postponement. The above linked article suggests it will be months if not a year, before the bourse will be up and running. And yet, I find articles dated back to pre-2004 announcing the Iranians intent and March 2006 as the date...maybe just a threat?

3. I think the bourse has started and is running in some limited way
at least. That is why I think oil and gas prices have shot up. Of course all we hear in the MSM is crickets and nukes

4. A friendly threat perhaps?
Iraq made the move to price oil in Euros and look what happened there. Perhaps Iran was warned through the back channel that any move towards the Euro would be viewed as an attack on the U.S.

Without oil backing the dollar, there's not much supporting out economic system.

6. Filed: 23/04/2006:
The opening of Iran's new oil exchange has recently been delayed. But, having spoken with numerous officials in Tehran, and western consultants who've been working with the Iranians for several years, I think it will go ahead. The exchange entity has already been legally incorporated in Iran and a site purchased to house administrative and regulatory staff.
