Can a smart person please explain why the stock market is wanting to go up 200 points today?

This is crazy stuff I have never seen...

1. The stock market is fake
A sucker's bet unless you're lucky enough to be on the inside.

Needless to say, I don't have any money in the stock market. I pulled it all out when Enron happened.

6. The WH has Goldman Sachs keep the Mkt.#'s HIGH for "National Secutity".
An article appeared on Yahoo News last year from a Canadian Financial firm- Sprott.com that exposed this immoral behaviour and the totally unfair advantage Goldman Sachs has in their investments. Goldman leads the pack on profits among the financial houses. Yes, the stock market is manipulated, and like ALL the other numbers coming out of this WH/Gov't. it is FAKE ! !

7. My pop saw a 60% increase in his stock portfolio
over the past 5 years when the market has been essentially flat.

It's still possible to make money in the market. It's just not automatic like it was in the 90s.

...the Fed is mumbling about ending the rate hikes.

5. thank goodness I got out of the game.
I'm down to a fixed rate mortgage, and an untapped fixed rate equity line. Never again will I bend over for the credit card companies.

If we keep going the way we are, I'll be able to invest my equity line in 6 month CDs at a profit.
