IRS to Ask Low-Income Families for Proof
Guess the govenment can't squeeze the poor enough. Might make some rich contributor upset.

1. Koresh knows there's so many rich tax cheats
who live in poor neighborhoods and work at menial jobs to fool the IRS.

How scummy can the Pirates of Enron get? This is an outrage!

2. You know
You can't really blame Bush for the IRS excesses. they are pirates whether Democrats or Republicans are in the White House. That is what you and I pay them for: to squeeze us like an orange. so why shouldn't they do it?? After all, we're just a 9-digit number to them.

3. did you read the article?
"Some also said the program singled out low-income taxpayers for a higher standard of proof than high-income taxpayers, with no evidence that poor families cheat on their taxes more often."

Do you think that order is not coming from the top? Do you think it is not part of the Bush administrations overall - everything for the rich, and everything against the poor philosophy?

Pirates? So you are of the opinion that government has no legitimate purpose, nor any legitimate claim upon the income of its citizens? The US government is not supposed to be the enemy of ordinary Americans, it only becomes so when some really evil fascists take over.

4. "Some said"
I guess that also means "some didn't say" so what's the point?

What's wrong with asking for proof that you deserve money that you are asking for? What ever "some said," higher income people DO need to offer proof for their exemptions...and that's just to attempt to pay less in taxes. This is a tax CREDIT.

5. Of course...
The elitism in this country right now is repugnant. The worst part is that I don't think it's all coming from the Bush Administration either... lots and lots of people actually feel like the poor are justr trying to get their hands in everyone's pockets.

Sad.

6. Squeeze the poor?
The top 50% pays 96% of all taxes, and you talk about squeezing the poor.
