Turns out it is the BANKS that need Greece to be bailed out.

Yep, just like they did to US, the banksters are now trying to get Germany to bail out Greece to protect the bad bets of the Banks.

FRANKFURT, March 17 (Reuters) - Deutsche Bank (DBKGn.DE) Chief Executive Josef Ackermann said it was in Germany's interest to save Greece since German banks -- excluding his own institution -- had billions of euros at stake.

"If the country is not stabilised, the next problem will be the banks," Ackermann in a speech to an academic audience on Wednesday, adding that German banks had "billions in the fire."

If the Germans had any sense, I think they do, they would cut their losses now. They can ease the credit the Greeks need to pay bills in the short term, it's the long term that has them stumped.

Sitting on the curb is Italy, Spain, Portugal and Ireland. Who's going to bail them out? That's the question the Germans are asking themselves.
