Boeing subsidies illegal, says World Trade Organization

US aircraft manufacturer Boeing received at least $5.3bn (£3.3bn) in unfair aid from Washington, the World Trade Organization (WTO) has concluded.

The subsidies included money for research and development from the Nasa space agency, a panel of international trade judges has ruled.

Last year the WTO said that Boeing's arch rival Airbus had received illegal aid from European governments.

The two companies have been at war over state aid for almost six years.

2. Does this mean that the "free market" exists only for the working class? How can this be? What
happened to Milton Friedman, Ayn Rand and Arthur Laffer? Has this all been a hoax? Have we been lied to lo' these many decades? Say it ain't so to restore my unbridled faith in free market democratic capitalism.

3. What free market democratic capitalism
I don't necessarily support it, but we don't have any. Particularly the way the MIC is entrenched into government budgets.

5. I agree with the WTO that the Boeing subsidies are illegal, but
What the hell authority does the WTO have to determine whether or not something the US Federal Government does is illegal? The only thing with such authority is the Constitution
