2. What Greenspin isn't saying
is that while there is no doubt the country has the ABILITY to repay its debt, there is a huge question of the POLITICAL DESIRE to repay the debt.....IOW....there are political forces (can you say teanderthals? ) who will hold the repayment hostage for their political goals.

8. Greenspan = Baghdad Bob
Greenspan....(paraphrased).."We don't want to regulate derivatives because it will dampen investors enthusiasm"

Baghdad Bob..."American tanks on the outskirts of Baghdad? Ridiculous!" (sound of artillery shells going off)

9. I could never understand what he said when he ran the Fed.
He used to take great pride in talking in ways that were unclear as to his meaning. He just bathed in the attention. After he left the post, he speaks very clearly as to what is on his mind. Otherwise no one would pay him any attention.

12. That really should be a bumpersticker
or a sig line.

I am totally gobsmacked that people do not get it.
I have read, here, today! on DU " We can always print more money to pay our debt".

From now on, I shall merely reply to that nonsense by saying what you wrote:

"If printing money were the answer, Zimbabwe would be world's top economy"
