How can a green energy company get in trouble?

Solar & wind are the greenest of green energy, with unlimited supply.
I can not understand why some are going bankrupt. May be more federal
subsidies are needed until they take root?

2. and even if a product somes to market, it is very expensive

People can't afford to buy it even if they want to. I wish I could put solar panels on my house, but it would be too expensive and would take forever to pay for itself.
