Immigration law needs revisions (Birmingham Business Journal )

"Hey, Mercedes, time to move to a more welcoming state.”

That was the headline of a recent editorial in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch taking aim at Alabama and its controversial new immigration law.

The editorial pointed out the paper’s disappointment with the arrest of a Mercedes-Benz U.S. International Inc. executive, who failed to have proper identification with him and was found in violation of the new law.

Although charges were dropped, the damage – from this incident and others – has been done to our state’s already fragile national image ...
