So I'm in this auction for SolarGuide.com
and it ends in three hours. It seems like a great domain name to me, but I'm not sure what I'd do with it if I won. With some quick searching I found http://www.thesolarguide.com/ and really like their site.

If you had the domain, what would you do with it? I'm looking for ideas and trying to decide whether to bid or not.

Note: I read this forum regularly and come in to recommend threads, but don't post here a lot.

1. what matters is marketing
It simply isn't true that all you have to do is provide quality content.

2. Yes, that's true.
I've seen some great sites take off like wildfire and some sit there with almost no activity. I develop and run sites, but have never done anything on the environmental end. I'm just wondering if there is a way to have a great informational site and make $$, too.

5. Some have private backing
This site gets more traffic than any other Michelle Obama site and now I know why. But they better start selling some of their own products because they won't make enough of a profit just with Adsense.

3. Create a religious website?
I can just see the banner now: "Hail to the Sun God! He is the One God! Ra! Ra! Ra!"

6. As a "computer geek," I say, "save your money"
Sure, a catchy domain name is helpful, but if you offer a superior web site, people will find it by word of mouth. Then, after you've made your first gazillion, you can buy the domain name of your dreams!
