Bush Message To Europe - "We Care About The Climate" - Reuters

WASHINGTON - President George W. Bush said on Thursday he would tell Europe on a fence-mending trip next week the United States cares about climate change and wants to work together to develop technologies to confront it.

EDIT

In a speech in Brussels on Monday, Bush is expected to stress the United States wants to address the problem of climate change. He has ruled out rejoining the Kyoto treaty, saying that to meet its requirements would cost millions of US jobs and billions of dollars.

At his news conference, Bush said one message he would carry to Europe will be, "We care about the climate." "There's an opportunity now to work together to talk about new technologies that will help us both achieve a common objective, which is a better environment for generations to come," he said.

EDIT

Nothing like starting off your weekend with a little projectile vomiting! :puke:

1. We care...
just not enough to actually do anything about it. :eyes:

And of course his solution is just cash give aways to the corporate world to make gadgetry that will help a (very) little.

2. How is it that George Bush expects anyone to believe anything he says.
It's simply amazing. This guy has not managed to say one true thing since being installed in the White House. He has to be the most dishonest person ever to have occupied that building in any capacity.

What is even more disturbing is that there are actually people on the planet who actually take his blabbering seriously.

The world ought to simply cut off the United States's credit card before it's too late. That will involve a lot of pain for those of us who live here, but it needs to be done.

3. But the world won't do that. Other parts of the world also have an
industrial-military complex. The big guys at the top want to make money and they're going to make money no matter what. And the majority of people everywhere believes that must be so because otherwise they won't have a job and no TV set in every damn bedroom. This is really an international problem. Please excuse me for hating your side of the picture the most, though.

4. You needn't worry about being excused - trust me, we understand
This buffoon will doubtless spend three or four sentences' worth of lies on the EU, pause expectantly for applause, receive none, and stumble on through the verbal fog.

But his father's lie proceeds him - "The American way of life is not negotiable" - G.H.W. Bush, 1992, at the Rio Summit. Nothing exemplifies the father's arrogance and stupidity more perfectly than the son.

5. Agreed. The less tolerant of us Europeans are of us, the better it is
for all of us in the long run.

6. "Message: We Care"
Nope. Doesn't sound anymore convincing than when his dad used to say things like that.
