(MI) Road projects in Macomb and St. Clair counties shelved
In news that should be surprising to no one, the state has been forced to postpone a long list of road projects due to continued declines in state gas tax revenues and now the state's inability to match federal dollars.

Statewide, MDOT has been forced to delay 243 statewide road and bridge projects. This is in addition to the 137 statewide road and bridge projects MDOT delayed in the spring.

The state road agency's decision to delay projects in Macomb County comes just weeks after the most recent Michigan Asset Management Council Annual Report of Federal Aid System findings showed that Macomb County has 753 miles of poor roads - the seventh worst total in the state.
