Fox et al claim CIA has diverted resources to climate research
Man, that didn't take long! NCPPR got right on this and fed it to Hannity:

'Hannity: "CIA director redirects manpower ... at the cost of our security, your security, your family's security?" Hannity stated during the January 5 edition of his Fox News program that "the CIA director redirects manpower to monitor climate change, but is it all the cost -- at the cost of our security, your security, your family's security?"'

Rebuttal: '...federal officials have reportedly said that the program, which allows the scientific community to gather data from CIA equipment, "has little or no impact on regular intelligence gathering."'

1. The story I read had it the other way around; the CIA will now
share the data it has collected for whatever purposes and by whatever means, with the scientific community if there is climate related information in the data. Because the data includes a large number of photos taken from space this is significant.

2. What disingenuous tripe. Oh well, just another day for Hannity and FAUX.

3. They're getting their talking points directly from the NCPPR,
The National Center for Public Policy Research, funded by conservatives and Exxon-Mobil.

It's just so blatant!

4. Blatant to the people who notice it. Which would probably not include most FAUX viewers. :^(

6. You don’t have to be subtle, if you’re telling people what they want to believe
Hannity’s audience will just thank God that someone is reporting the truth!

5. so the CIA
Is trying to determine what the effects of deforestation, desertification, loss of water, food, and other resources and what effect that might have on populations around the globe to forecast trouble and or hot spots?

I'm trying to figure out why the CIA SHOULDN'T be looking at the effects of global warming and how that might contribute to starvation, mass migration, deprivation and the instability that would attend these problems.
